Calcutta Rescue has again started welcoming volunteers from abroad

As the severity of the Covid pandemic has lessened Calcutta Rescue has again has started welcoming volunteers from abroad. Solidar India, a nonprofit organisation from France and a loyal Calcutta Rescue supporter since 2017, collaborated with Rouen University in France to send nine medical students in India and they spent two weeks in Kolkata observing the work of CR.
They visited the clinics, the education centres and even the handicrafts unit which they loved.

Ines, a fourth-year student who is considering specialising in gynaecology, spent time with the staff at the Mother and Child Health department and said: “This is a good opportunity for me to observe and learn how in different countries in different places pregnant and new mothers their babies are clinically treated.”

“I am mesmerised by the street medicine programme,” said Nada, a fourth-year student.
