Calcutta Rescue helped Gour achieve a new life: Covered by The Telegraph

An article about how Calcutta Rescue helped a street vendor recover from “the brink of death” has attracted some welcome attention for the NGO.

“Awesome” “amazing work” and “inspirational” were just a few of the responses that came into the team at Calcutta Rescue this month following the publication of the article about Gour Das whose life was blighted by both sickness and the Covid pandemic.

Journalist Ramona Sen was moved to write the article for My Kolkata, The Kolkata Telegraph’s website, after witnessing how the charity helped Gour get back on his feet by patiently treating his wounds, both physical and psychological, and giving him the nutritious food he needed to recover.
