We can treatour registered patients in clinics,but many more people who need medical attention are being left behind.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>So, we have taken a novel approach of reaching out to these needy patients through selected members of their community. We have created a core batch of Community Health Workers (CHW) who will serve as a link between the persons in need and our medical team. The idea is to train these women from the slum areasto become the eyes and ears of our medical clinic.<\/p><p>For the initial training, four slum areas have been chosen in Kolkata Station, Garden Reach, Anandapur and Jheelpark. The head of the Health Education of the Tala Park clinic is taking the classes online. These girls will educate slum dwellers about various health issues, promote good health practices, and ensure active participation of the community to make the community an active partner with our healthcare system.
