Both his parents are illiterate, and the whole environment is depressing beyond imagination. From that background, Subhobecame a college graduate and is now headmaster of one of Calcutta Rescue\u2019s schools.<\/p>\n<p>As a child, Subho had no parental support and guidance, but he was bright and determined, and school was his salvation.<\/p>\n<p>There he found teachers who recognized his potential.He studied very hard and they gave him extra support at breaks and after school. As a result, he got admission in a college where he got his bachelor\u2019s degree\u00a0majoring in science subjects.He had paid his own way through college by doing three jobs &#8211; working in a factory two days a week, serving as a courier and making packages out of newspapers at home that he could sell.<\/p>\n\n<p>After graduation, he passed up higher paying jobs to accept a teacher\u2019s position at Calcutta Rescue.Why? Because: \u201cI love teaching and I don\u2019t want other children to suffer like me.\u201d\n<\/p><p>\nA decade later, Subho has risen to be the headmaster of our Tala Park School, he is responsible for 9 teachers and 300 students.He is an inspirational role model for all of them. When it was decided to extend the school hours into the evening,Subho volunteered to do this himself, adding two and a half hours to his workday. \u201cKids don\u2019t get guidance at home.
