Weak, malnourished, and highly vulnerable, she was immediately escorted to a Kolkata Municipal Corporation center for an emergency health checkup, where she was diagnosed with severe, unmanaged <strong>Diabetes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Mobile Health Shield:<\/strong> The <strong>Street Medicine team<\/strong> immediately stepped in. Calcutta Rescue placed her on a strict regimen of regular clinical follow-ups, fully funded diabetes medications, and intensive social counseling to help her manage her diet and emotional trauma.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reclaiming Her Future:<\/strong> Thanks to continuous, door-to-door community care, Lal Banu\u2019s blood sugar levels have completely stabilized, and she has <strong>regained her physical strength<\/strong>. She no longer has to fight for survival alone; Calcutta Rescue has become the family and the medical anchor she desperately needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Calcutta Rescue Street Medicine Programme<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our specialized mobile medical vans operate directly on the frontlines under flyovers and within hidden slum pockets. Resuming expanded operations across <strong>8 primary slum areas<\/strong>, our teams visit each cluster at least <strong>twice a month<\/strong> to distribute essential medicines, provide clinical checkups, and dispense sanitary napkins to promote critical menstrual hygiene.
