Shama lives with her parents and siblings in a small single-room house in the Mechuabazar area of Kolkata. Her father, the family’s sole earning member, works as a tailor. His modest and irregular income is barely sufficient to meet the family’s daily needs, making it extremely difficult to cover the costs of higher education, books, study materials, examination fees, and professional coaching.

In the 2026 Higher Secondary Examination, Shama achieved an outstanding score of 88.6%, reflecting her academic excellence, dedication, and determination. Driven by her passion for commerce and finance, she has enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Accountancy programme at Umesh Chandra College.

Shama aspires to become a Cost and Management Accountant (CMA). To achieve this goal, she has already begun preparing for the CMA entrance and professional examinations alongside her undergraduate studies. She firmly believes that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and creating a brighter future for herself and her family.
