CITY OF ANGELS - Film on messiah of pavements to hit Kolkata screen tomorrow- Times of India

At 87, this doctor bends over to listen to heartbeats. He bends slightly more these days, but there is otherwise no sign of fatigue on his weather-beaten face. You may have not been lucky to come across Jack Preger -the healer on Kolkata pavements as, he is popularly called -at work, but here's a film that captures the journey of the British farmer-turned doctor who has been serving destitute on Kolkata streets since the 70s.

Calcutta Rescue to widen its service areas with SBI-sponsored second street ambulance- India Blooms

State Bank of India donated the Rs 16-lakh ambulance in recognition of the services rendered by Calcutta Rescue's first ambulance to almost 20,000 slum dwellers residing along the Canal East and Canal West neighborhoods in north Kolkata.
